Born 1987. Mario James Danna is a Pacific Northwest artist.

Mario spent most of his life a stroll away from the ocean and, during his twenties, a meander to Rick Bartow’s studio. Encouraged by Bartow, Mario learned to use art as a thread to sew the pieces of his life together. He later received his BFA from Pacific Northwest College of Art, PNCA, in 2019.

Mario worked for Gamblin Artist Colors filling paint tubes with toothpaste tube filling machines from the 50s. such a colorful mess.

He is now focuses on portrait and still life work. Letting people and the objects around him teach him about paint. about color. about seeing.

Mario also makes 3D work. puppets and automatons.
